Week of Affirmation and Resilience 2021

Join us for an uplifting week of events for Transmen and Transmasculine Folx, featuring panel discussions, social, and networking opportunities. This week of events aims to build community and provide connections to resources for Transmen and Transmasculine Folx attending the events. Such topics to be covered are Community Building, Sexual Health and Wellness, and Leadership Development. We also have a few events for to help allies better their support of Transmen and Transmasculine Folx. Transmen and Transmasculine Week of Affirmation and Resiliences is open to all transmen and transmasculine folks 18 years old and up, and centers the lived experiences of Black, Latinx, Native Indian, and AAPI voices.  Please stay tuned for our full schedule of events.

Monday, November 15th

8:00 pm - 9:30 pm EST The State of the Transmen and Transmasculine Community

The State of the Transmen and Transmasculine Community addresses issues, adversities, and the lived experience of transmen and transmasculine folx.


Tuesday, November 16th

12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EST Transgender Advocate Training

Transgender Advocate Training works to expand the knowledge and familiarity of transgender issues and experience.


6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EST Impact of Covid on Transmen and  Transmasculine Communities

This panel discussion analyzes the impact covid-19 has had on transmen and transmasculine communities in the realm of barriers to health care, housing, stable career, and transition services.


Wednesday, November 17th

3:00pm - 4:30pm EST In the Era of Transmen and Transmasculine Healthcare; What Are Our Needs?

This panel examines the healthcare needs and disparities of transmen and transmasculine patients.


6:00pm - 7:30pm EST  Navigating Relationships, Sexual Health and Wellness in Trans Communities

This panel examines the romantic, sexual practices, and sexual stigmas transmen and transmasculine communities often encounter.


9:00pm - 10:30pm EST Virtual Game Night (Transmen and Transmasculine Participants Only)

This social event is for transmen and transmasculine community members only, to deepen community bonds.


Thursday, November 18th

5:30pm - 7:00pm EST Strengthening Allyship with Transmen and Transmasculine Communities

This panel gives insight to the ways non-transgender communities can have better methods of allyship with transgender communities.

9:00pm - 11:00pm EST Misogyny & Misandry in the Transgender Community

This panel explores the internal adversity amongst the community that shows up through misogyny against transwomen and transfeminine communities, and misandry against transmen and transmasculine communities.


Friday, November 19th

12:00pm - 1:30pm EST Passing the Torch; a Transmen and Transmasculine Intergenerational Dialogue

Passing the Torch, focuses on the views and experiences of transmen and transmasculine communities across generations.

Saturday, November 20th

TDOR Call to Action

Each year on November 20th, Transgender Day of Remembrance, we pay homage to all the transgender individuals that have passed away in that year. We will encourage all participants to attend, volunteer, or donate to a TDOR event in their area.


8:30pm - 10:00pm EST In Person Networking Mixer for Transmen and Transmasculine Communities 

This event is a platform to create a community and network of resources for Transmen and  Transmasculine individuals. The event is open to transmen and transmasculine community members in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Location venue TBA. Free admmision. (Transmen and Transmasculine Folx only). 

10:30pm - 1:00am EST Community Party

This party is open to all. Join us after your TDOR events to celebrate and uplift the transgender community. Location TBA (will be in the same venue as the in person mixer). Admission is free.
